Beijing Continuing Education School of Science and Technology organized the 2018 training to improve Beijing farmers’ techniques and capacities.
This on-the-spot, flexible and vivid training was welcomed and recognized by farmers.
On November 20, the 2018 Beijing Farmers Training of Technique & Capacity Improvement was held. Considering that there are many farmers in the villages and towns of southern Pinggu District engaging in growing vegetables, Beijing Continuing Education School of Science and Technology and Pinggu Association for Science and Technology specially organized training for local farmers on growing vegetables. This on-the-spot, flexible and vivid training was welcomed and recognized by farmers.
During the three-day training, with the instructions of experts and teachers, forty trainees of Donggaocun Town of Pinggu District comprehensively learnt and grasped the techniques of planting & nurturing vegetable and field care etc.
Firstly, Li Xuefeng the Deputy Principal of Beijing Continuing Education School of Science and Technology gave a pep talk, hoping all the trainees to pay highly attention and fully understand the meaning of this training, conscientiously learn, strengthen communication, grasp the relevant techniques & knowledge, become more capable and be able to utilize correctly what they acquire in this training.
Then, Si Yaping and Huang Jinbao the teachers of Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences gave presentations on “Techniques of Vegetable Nursery” and “Vegetable Diseases & Pests Control” respectively. Cui Tonghua of Pinggu District Agriculture Technique Promotion Station explained the relevant fertilizer techniques. Peng Xiaolin the expert of Agriculture Service Center of Donggaocun Town brought the trainees to a greenhouse and gave them instructions about practical skills of field care of tomato and cucumber on the spot. The trainees expressed that they had benefited a lot from the courses.
By integrating theory and practice, this training focused on professional expertise, further improved the new skilled farmers’ capacity of growing vegetable, and nurtured high quality agricultural talents for deepening reform of agricultural supply front, adjusting planting structure and realizing rural vitalization.
